Summary:

The Inventory Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to a multi-shift staff at the Salinas facility. The Supervisor will directly affect business success by supporting the Inventory Manager in all facets of inventory accounting.

 

Job Function Statements Essential Functions:

The supervisor will directly support business success by managing accurate and timely inventory of raw ingredients, packaging and finished goods on a daily basis. Duties include, but are not limited to: setting work schedules, assigning tasks to associates, investigating issues, and communicating with internal departments. The Inventory Supervisor will complete and analyze shift performance measurements such as inventory accuracy, packaging shrink (MUV), PECO Pallets, overhead expenditures and daily punch detail in KRONOS for hourly associates.   Must constantly look for ways to improve a process in order to reduce lead-time and eliminate non-value-added activities. Must have a thorough understanding of all policies and procedures relative to inventory control and assure employee compliance of Department and Company policies and procedures. Responsible for coaching, developing and mentoring direct reports.    Maintain safe work environment by assuring employees are trained on all safety issues, completing safety accident and/or incident reports in a timely manner and recognizing/correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors. SARBANES OXLEY RELATED CONTROLS: verify that the reconciliation processes for Inventory and Gatekeeping in all plants are in compliance. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications/Skills:

1.         Strong organizational and communication skills.

 

2.         Highly-motivated person who is able to thrive within a multi-tasking, fast-changing environment.

 

3.         Must be detail-oriented and understand which issues to prioritize and which details to monitor.

 

4.         Computer proficiency: Windows and Microsoft Word/Excel.

 

5.         Capable of working in a cold (34 degrees F) and wet environment and be willing to work weekends.

 

6.         Must demonstrate the ability to effectively function within diversified teams.

 

7.         Must set a priority on customer satisfaction and operate with a sense of urgency.

 

8.         Coaching, developing and mentoring skills.    

 

Other Desired Qualifications/Skills:

1.       Experience with Process Improvement methodology

 

2.       Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Vietnamese)

 

3.       Computer: AS400, Powerpoint, Access.

 

Experience:

2-3 years experience in a Supervisory or management role utilizing skills in a food processing and packaging environment or equivalent
